How did you get into calligraphy?
“My friend and I saw how beautiful it was. At first, I thought it was going to be impossible, but as soon as I made my first attempt at it, I fell in love.”
What inspires your calligraphy?
“I think it’s one of the only things I’ve loved from the beginning. It doesn’t discourage me when it’s not perfect, because I know I can improve.”
Do you know anyone else who does calligraphy?
“My friend Alyssa, actually! She’s such a sweet person and understands the lengths I am willing to go for calligraphy.”
Do you use any specific drawing
“Calligraphy looks just as nice done in pencil as it does in those expensive brush pens. Most days, I’ll use my Crayola markers, but on special occasions, I love paint pens and brush.”
Where do you see this taking you in the future?
“I hope someday I can make pieces for homes and weddings more regularly! I started the whole wedding thing not too long ago and it’s been the most exciting part of this journey.”
Do you use calligraphy in your daily life? How?
“Oh yeah! It’s done on my notes for school almost always. I also use it as a coping mechanism when I can’t focus or extreme boredom has taken over.”
How would you describe your artwork?
“If I were to describe it, I’d say flexible. Sometimes it’s that fun and bouncy calligraphy, but other times its more elegant, and clean. There are no limits to what you can learn with calligraphy.”
